I am sick since last night. Fever, sore throat, flu, coughin - everythin came at once. Was hoping i could go out today, wanna buy da MNG purse i've been eyeing for quite some time now. Since im so sick n planless today, i guess i shall just blog again. Oh alright, was waken up by my hp ringtone. An unknown number. I was half-awake so i jus simply pressed da green button n heard "Hello?" I opened my mouth but i couldnt speak! Oh gosh, i had such a bad sore throat, i had no voice at all! Then da lady on da phone went on "Hello"ing n she finally got frustrated n hung up. Darn, wht a great start. Anyway was feeling drowsy so i went back to bed.
Oh so since im so sick, everyone kinda forced me to go to da clinic. Why force, u wonder? Oh its this phobia i have of injections. I dont know why, but everytime im sick (regardless of the types of illness) i always end up havin an injection on my butt. How embarassing! Oh well, i really really dont understand. Wht has migraine got to do with anythin near my butt?!! Hmmph.. Oh well, luckily no injection for me today. Jus came back with another bag of multi-coloured pills. Shld have lied tht i couldnt swallow pills (im actually darn good at it) n get da syrup ones instead!
Anyway when i was out to go to the doctor's i had to pass by a part of Klang-ites' beloved Klang River. I would swear i thought the river was pink in colour! (Okay, then i realize mayb i was feelin too drowsy from my fever @.@ ) Oh well, im just really really disappointed tht it was covered by plastic - why do ppl throw so much plastic into the river? Ishh (Again i would claim, im an environmental-friendly architect!!!!!)
Altho plastics werent really featured in our Environmental Science classes in college, i came across a few websites when i was doin my research on Recycling for my individual report tht plastic is non-biodegradable and has a REALLY short useful life-span. But then again, wasnt tht statement (tht plastic is non-biodegradable) common sense anyway?? Cant believe ppl just throw them away in rivers n seas just like tht! I knew littering was quite a problem with Malaysians, but i didnt know it was this bad!! Especially with plastic bags!!
Oh well, then again i think.. n realised.. This simple plastic bag is an invisible, ubiquitous fact of life. Invisible because we dont see them, or mayb we see them but not notice..? Hmm.. Anyway, my point is.. If u look close enough, or think hard enough, yd realize tht almost every retail transaction involves two essential things: (1) Money; and (2) the plastic bag (or if yre a Metrojaya/Isetan shopper like i am, several layers of plastic bags. They double-wrap yr buys, if u didnt already know).
So whts my say? (if im actually influential enough to have a say in da 1st place) Oh well, i heard supermarkets in some countries actually offer a discount if u use yr own shoppin bag and perhaps even provide some 'plastic-bag' recycling centres for u to put yr platic bags into. Consequences would prolly b less landfill used, lower retail prices (hope u didnt really tot tht these plastic bags are free!) and mayb, less storage space needed in yr kitchen or storeroom (for da used plastic bags la duhh)..? But then again, i would say this would b quite a challenge for us kiasu Malaysians coz da people from da store would probably feel suspicious if a customer refuse to take those plastic bags for 'free'. (prolly also bcoz they need u to hold those plastic bags arnd to help them 'advertise') But then, like now, we take those plastic bags home.. and we store them at home.. and then wht? Use them to throw da trash?? Hmm..
Its a sad fact of life tht wht's given for free is not valued. We always take things for granted. In an ugly, ugly architectural point of view, discarded plastic bags are vr much a part of our modern cityscape, and even if u go to da riverside n seaside, u wont b spared the sight of those pinkish surfaces of da water! I swear u dont need to have a fever to see pink rivers or seas~! And ive always had ppl ask me, "Why our turtles going extinct ahh?" Here's my answer: BECAUSE U ARE THROWING PLASTIC BAGS EVERYWHERE, WHICH ARE WASHED BY DA CURRENT, WHICH THEN CHOKES OUR POOR TURTLES TO DEATH LA DOINKK!!! Ishhh... Geramnyeee...
Hmm dont ask me why im so easily agitated. Ive been thru hell of a time in these two days. I know ive hurt those who love me, but i have my vr own credible reasons for it. (Heck, NO - Its not PMS!!!) Just hope to be left alone now. Just hope to have da freedom to choose how i want my life to be. Just hope to be given da chance to be with da person i love. If thr is a chance to turn back time, i will still choose this decision tht ive made. Please love me for who i am, not who u want me to be. Thank u.
